Have you ever seen an RC video with a guy acting as MGM’s lion? That’s our today’s guest 😉
We didn’t have a chance to meet him in person (yet 😉 ), but after talking to him a few times we think he seems to be really cool – creative, outgoing, energetic and with a great sense of humor. As he is part of AsiaTees Hobbies crew, he knows one thing or two about RC, that’s for sure 😉
With a great pleasure we present to you our today’s guest – someone, who must be a fun company during RC adventures, that we hope to have a chance to meet one day and is the first person from Asia, that made us the honor and answered to our “5 questions to:..”. Ladies and gents – it’s Chris Chu! 🙂
1. How has your RC adventure started and what was your first RC?
My RC adventure started really young. My dad’s always played RC, mostly planes/helicopters, but he got me an RC car when I was young, and ever since then, I’ve always had interest in the RC hobby. The first RC car he ever got me was the Tamiya Clodbuster, and for a 6-year old or so, that car was HUGE!
2. Which RC (that you own or owned) is your favorite?
For cars, I really love my Tamiya CC01. Definitely one of my favorite kits out there (and if you see on forums/social media, whenever I post about it, I can’t help but play favorites)! I’m really enjoying FPV and RC quadcopters right now, and my favorite is a split between ImmersionRC’s Vortex and my Shendrones Tweaker. 🙂
3. What is your dream RC?
My dream RC car is probably the Yeti XL. It’s just WAY too big to play here in Hong Kong! For an RC quad, I would love to get a Team BlackSheep Discovery Pro 2. I love aerial photography/filming and would love to spend more time doing it!
4. What do you like the most in this hobby?
I love the growth and community in the hobby. Every now and then, there’s a bad egg that kind of ruins the hobby for people, but the majority of RC hobbyists is so patient, kind, and helpful. I’ve really enjoyed speaking to everyone in this hobby and seeing where they come from and why they enjoy it!
5. What are 4 things that you always take on your RC adventures?
My phone, mosquitto repellant, some beef jerky, and my FPV quad (just in case that location has an amazing view).
