This time, we have a pleasure to post answers from an ultimate RC fanatic. Not only he has a pretty descent collections of cars, is very active in RC community, takes part in RC competitions (and took care of organizing the last one of rc-trial.pl’s comps this year), he also built a track in his backyard and “infected” two of three of his young sons with this hobby (the youngest one recently learnt how to walk, so it’s not gonna be long until he’s gonna drive, too 😉 ).
His oldest boy gets better and better each year and very soon we’ll have a big problem to “win” with him, let me tell ya. Looking forward to ask him our “5 questions to:..” when he gets older 🙂
With a great pleasure we present to you answers from someone, that we are happy to call our RC friend, that is “RC father goals” to many and who you’ll have an opportunity to meet while in Poland next September/October 🙂 Ladies and gentlemen – it’s Cina!
- How has your RC adventure started and what was your first RC?
I saw how my cousin was driving his nitro and I got interested. I read here and there and I went on the other side of the road to HPI and bought Bullet MT. It was an electric RTR.
- Which RC (that you own or owned) is your favorite?
I don’t have a favorite. I rebuilt some. First was Bullet MT (I still have it, but it looks slightly different 🙂 ), than i bought Savage XS and Traxxas Rustler, because there was three of us to play. In the meantime I bought buggy 1/8 Mugen ECO – my first purchase from the US. So it won’t get boring driving alone, I got anothe “eight” VORZA from HPI. But these RC didn’t fit to driving next to home, and on 1/8 ET buggy track there was a big competition and not much fun from just driving. I also had Hobao Hyper 1/8 Truggy, a real monster, huge in comparison to the rest cars I had. Power and strenght. But there was no space to drive it, and it got boring driving alone on the field. There are also buggy 1/10 to race on the track in the winter, no drifters as it didn’t get to me. There is Strada that I want to prepare to rally, but maybe on the other occasion.
Recently, since 2014, I’m into trial. I rebuilt some cars. Started from buying Jeep Wrangler and it went from there 🙂 . At the moment I have 5 trial RCs that work and 2 in the middle of the build, and trucks – one ready, one under construction.
- What is your dream RC?
I don’t know yet 🙂 for me an RC has to work, doesn’t break, be strong and give fun while driving it. Nissan Titan that I have, built by friend my Robert (strictly for competitions), gives me that. But I’m mostly into 1:10 cars that are like their 1:1 rigs straight from the factory, is what I like the most, like my Defender D90. And I think that’s my prettiest RC.
- What do you like the most in this hobby?
Creative thinking, working on my RCs, being able to not think about everyday life for a while. I get bored and irritated while repairing cars, especially when it’s a silly mechanical problem such as f.e. losing a screw.
- What are 4 things that you always take on your RC adventures?
Well, an RC, radio and spare battery 🙂
