We had a REALLY big problem, which rig to choose for this post’s main picture.. 😉
Our today’s guest builds his rigs with INSANE amount of details. His RC cars can be easily mistaken with their 1:1 brothers. He is also an integral part of GCM Racing – videos that he appears on are always fun to watch 🙂
With a great pleasure we present to you today answers to “5 questions to:..” from a true RC artist – Dana Clarke! 😀
- How has your RC adventure started and what was your first RC?
I started in the RC hobby many years ago when I was a child in the mid 80’s…..and what a great time for RC world, I was a big fan and still am of Tamiya, and of course my first RC was the Tamiya Hornet, that I purchased second hand from the local newspaper classifieds. I remember it had a few mods on it including a custom aluminum bracket for the shock towers, because they always broke….
- Which RC (that you own or owned) is your favorite?
My favourite RC is my Marui Bill Elliott Coors NASCAR version which I believe was the Marui Ninja with a stock car body….., I still have it today restored and managed to pick one up off eBay of course still mint in box. Back then our family really enjoyed watching NASCAR on Sunday afternoons and always cheered for Bill…..
- What is your dream RC?
Dream RC…Hmmmmm….I would really like to get my hands on a mint vintage Tamiya Hilux…..love that model with old school 3 speed transmission and lots of metals parts Awesome……
- What do you like the most in this hobby?
What I like the most in this hobby is the opportunity to meet people with similar interests and spending the day RC’in, whether it be flying, trailing, bashing, racing or even building, there are so many aspects to the hobby I enjoy….oh and of course heading to local hobby store and seeing all the latest products in person is a great thrill, especially if you are intending to pick up your next project……love that…..
- What are 4 things that you always take on your RC adventures?
What I usually take on my RC adventures are tools of course, some spare parts, friends, my go pro, and usually a bunch of tiny trucks……
