He is one of the guys we met this year in Sweden. But… not on any of the awesome trail meetings we went to 🙂 You may wonder – where, then? You’d be surprised, as much as we were when we first decided to contact him 😀 He is from the same town, we are going on summer vacations to (almost) each year 😀 Insane, right?
We first contacted him, because we saw a picture from RC Drifters Mariestad and he was tagged on it 🙂 Magic of Instagram, huh? He and his friends were kind enough to open their drift course on Friday, two days before we were leaving Sweden, just to meet, have fun and make us want to RC drift more than ever before 😀 How cool is that??
Today we have answers for “5 questions to:..” from someone, that (as it turned out) is not only RC drifter, super nice guy and ultimate RC maniac, but also someone, that we are looking forward to meet again as soon as we get back to Sweden 🙂 We present to you Daniel Alvar a.k.a. @slarvar! 😀
- How has your RC adventure started and what was your first RC?
I bought my first RC in August in 2014 when I was on sick leave due to two herniated discs in my back. I had nothing to do during the day so the RC seemed like a good idea since it is neither heavy or large, but really fun 🙂 Bought two used cars by an acquaintance, one Team Associated T4.1 Factory Team and one Team Associated B4.1 Factory Team including batteries, charger, transmitter and all I needed to get started. And now, not quite a year later, I have 11 complete ready to run cars! It quickly went downhill. 😉
- Which RC (that you own or owned) is your favorite?
I have to break down the question.
The favorite for drifting is MST FFX-D S.
The favorite for crawling is Vaterra Ascender.
The favorite for bashing is the Traxxas Summit.
The favorite to drive on track is Losi 22.
- What is your dream RC?
It is a hard question, I do not think about any dream RC right now – I’m busy trying to run and maintain the ones I have now.
- What do you like the most in this hobby?
What I like most is the time to hang out with friends and to meet so many new friends in the meantime.
- What are 4 things that you always take on your RC adventures?
I always take too much stuff, can not really say what, but too much of everything.
