He is an ultimate RC maniac – he builds, he organizes events (Austrian Scale Team Series), he drives… and his family drive with him 🙂 Thanks to him and his buddies from Team Stonerockers RECON G6 came to Europe for the first time in 2014! 🙂
After talking to him a few times, we are certain, he is a very nice guy 🙂 And a loving father to his daughters (another great example, that driving RCs with the kids is an awesome family activity 🙂 ), a biker, a Teamdriver with Tekin and AxialRacing and.. he has some awesome RC drivers in his household (Minion, Terminator, Male stripper doll 😉 and… Mozart 😉 ).
With a great pleasure we present to you answers to “5 questions to:..” from someone we are looking forward to meet on August 29th, on RECON G6 in Austria 🙂 (and week later in Italy, too. Hopefully 😉 ). Here is @daniels_199 ! 😀
- How has your RC adventure started and what was your first RC?
My adventure started as a kid with a nikko toyota hilux with 4wd – but no suspension! Then after a break I came back to RC roughly 15 years ago with a Tamiya Hummer. After years of onroad racing and I moved on to scale offroad.
- Which RC (that you own or owned) is your favorite?
This is a very difficult one! I like all of my trucks – every truck in unique and has plenty of stories to tell. I guess my favourite would be the car I currently drive most – which is my Axial SCX-10 Jeep nicknamed “Brute Force”. It was original built by Mike Pham in the US and has lot’s of Vanquish Parts on it! The nickname came because my TEKIN ROC412 setup provides more wheel speed than other trucks in Europe.
- What is your dream RC?
At the moment I would love to own a Trophy Truck style 1.9 Scaler with IFS! Key would be to have enough steering to drive it in more Trial style events too.
- What do you like the most in this hobby?
I love that the hobby helps to bring people from different backgrounds and countries together. It was really amazing to see people from 4 countries show up at the first austrian event this season. I like the RECON G6 format for making it possible to enjoy a great day outdoors with your family and friends at your own pace.
- What are 4 things that you always take on your RC adventures?
Nokia Lumia 930, standard and metric tools, zip ties, spare Lipo and of course a smile on my face
