He is one of the guys behind this year’s, first ever Italian RECON G6 🙂 But he is not “just that” – he also, with his friend Gabriele Biaggi aka the lizard, organize S.O.R.R.C.A. Piemonte Championship 🙂 Pretty cool, huh? 🙂
And as far as we know – he is doing a great job! If you have any questions about the RC events he takes part in, he always is more than happy to answer them (we asked him tons of questions so far, with suggestions where to stay and what food gonna be available during the Maggiora Scaler Fest – Recon G6 Italia 😉 Sandra writes a food blog so it’s not that “crazy” question! 😉 ).
We are looking forward to meeting him this September 🙂 Ladies and gentlemen – here are the answers to “5 questions to:..” from Simone Cantoia! 🙂
- How has your RC adventure started and what was your first RC?
I Always loved cars and every kind of vehicle, just thought it could be a lot of fun to play with rc toys instead of static ones. I started with rc grade toys as a kid, I remember a Nikko Hilux monster truck whit lights and sound effects, you could also put some hot water in a small tank in the rear bed: it used steam to simulate exhaust smoke 🙂 I still have it, maybe I could restore it or use the Toyota body for a modern scaler.
Growing up I stopped playing with toy grade cars waiting for a hobby grade rc car, but I used to race tamiya mini4wds with my friends. Finally 3 years ago I bought my first true professional car, a Traxxas Summit.
- Which RC (that you own or owned) is your favorite?
It’s difficult to choose, I love my Summit, my baja bug and my micro crawlers, but my favourite is my Axial SCX10 Jeep Rubicon, it’s my first scaler, and the most used from scale competitions to trail driving with friends.
- What is your dream RC?
I don’t know, I think if I had no budget limits I would like to have a full detailed Trail Finder 2 with every kind of realistic function, lights, smoke, sound effects, scale engine and so on. I also love multiaxles trucks like the Capo RC Tatra 8×8
- What do you like the most in this hobby?
I like our hobby beacuse it is very complete. I mean, if you want to build a great truck you must work on different aspects like for a real truck: building mechanical parts, connecting the electronics, working on tires and suspension setup, painting body, adding scale details to the interior…..there’s always something to learn Being a car fanatic I love the realistic side of the hobby, the possibility of building and driving a scale truck in the same ways as if it was a fullsize one! And of course I love the fun of driving every kind of RC!
- What are 4 things that you always take on your RC adventures?
I always use my typical old red backpack to carry my rc stuff. 🙂 It always contains tools and spare parts, spare batteries ( I still use Nimh so I need a lot of them), and my camera for taking pictures. But the best thing for a fun adventure is bringing friends driving with you along the trail!
