5 questions to: The Tank (François Simard)

He is an ultimate RC maniac – with tons of great rigs, scale garage and 1:10 barn (!) in his backyard 😀

He also makes his own amazing scale itemsorganize meetings at The Sim’s (place he created at the back of his house) and “RC Talk” on his channel on YouTube (that we are willing to take part in one day, when we are more comfortable in speaking English..). Despite “all of the RC” he seems to have a really great sense of humor 😀 (proof #1proof #2proof #3 🙂 )

It is a real pleasure and honor to post answers to “5 questions to:..” from someone, like our today’s guest 🙂 Ladies and gents – The Tank! 😀

  1. How has your RC adventure started and what was your first RC?

Growing up I got some toy grade RC’s but my first hobby grade RC was in early 2000 it was a Kyosho Mini-Z Racer Ready Set (#30142CM) Castrol Mugen NSX this thing was so fun and we race it at our local hobby store and at home, and then I just had to get one that works outdoor so I got a Tamiya Super hornet, and then I took a 10 year RC break.

  1. Which RC (that you own or owned) is your favorite?

In the last 3 to 4 years I purchase lots of different style of RC’s they are from racers to crawlers 24 to be exact, but if my wife ask you I got 10 ok, as my favorite one that’s hard to say as they are all different and do different things, but if I had to pick it would be my Hybrid Rat-Rod that I custom build using a 1/16 E-Revo and putting a fix Rear axle on it.

  1. What is your dream RC?

It would have to be a BIG kick ass RC TANK… LOL

  1. What do you like the most in this hobby?

I love the challenges that it bring in building and customizing it to your needs and requirements. Especially when dealing with customizing your RC trucks and building scaling stuff 1/10 Garage, courses and environments.

  1. What are 4 things that you always take on your RC adventures?
  2. Bug spray lots of it. 2. Water lots of it. 3. Some RC tools. 4. A spare Truck with some batteries. 5. And… man I got to stop at 4, if I had a five it would be friends or family member.
