We first get to know him as “Vermont” (because of his nick vermont_scale_rc), but now we know, his real name is Trevor Rushford 😉 He is a Redbull addict, long hours working UPS driver and one of the most fun and popular RC addicts in the USA (with more than 6500 followers on Instagram in 11.2014!). He is really hard working dude – not only building awesome rigs, he also is very active on Instagram, YouTube and Facebook, a founder of Ultimate Scale Challenge TTC by Vermont Scale RC and a very friendly and helpful person, at the same time. Hopefully we’ll get a chance to meet him offline one day 🙂 He is the second one, to answer our “5 questions to…”.

  1. How has your RC adventure started and what was your first RC?

I started rcing when I was 15 years old, now 40. My first toy rc was a Tyco Rock Hopper and my first Hobby Grade was the Tamiya Blackfoot.

  1. Which RC (that you own or owned) is your favorite?

My most favorite RC is my SCX10 which I call The Goat. It’s a hardbody Cadillac Escalade. With a 35t motor and a lot of custom work to the body as it was one giant piece of plastic. Full aluminum, junfac driveshafts the list is long.

  1. What is your dream RC?

The original Tamiya Hilux.

  1. What do you like the most in this hobby?

I love meeting new people, wheeling with my friends and traveling to different states. I also love building and tinkering with my RC’s.

  1. What are 4 things that you always take on your RC adventures?

Besides the RC and controller, I bring a camera, tools, batteries, food, (because I like to eat), and trail making tools.

UPDATE 2020

Brand name RC would be my RC4WD LWB TF2. I drove it for 64 hours straight a few years ago and just love the way it drives. My favorite RC I built would have been my RC I call the Goat. It was an SCX10 with a custom Cadillac Escalade hardbody. Spent a full season building it. Doing a rebuild soon!

  1. What is your dream RC?

I would love love love to own a Capra Jeep. They look so good and big scale is something I’d love to get into.

  1. What do you like the most in this hobby?

I am a community-minded person, so meeting new people is always on the top of my list. I love wheeling in big groups and watch everyone pull sick lines all day.

  1. What are 4 things that you always take on your RC adventures?

I take tools, phone, go pro, water, and a can-do attitude! Haha

5+ What were you up to RC-wise since answering to “5 questions to:..” for the first time? What are you up to these days?

I have been pretty busy! RCEC is also hard at work getting our big event Ledgestock ready for 2021. We have been making a new rule set for our events called National Remote Control Association, there is a page on FB. I wrote a book called ‘Staring At Ghosts’ which is for sale on Amazon. I am currently creating a podcast with a childhood friend. I will continue to travel to meet new people and bring the fun with me wherever I go!
