As many of you already know, we have a pleasure to build a new project πŸ™‚ This time it’s a brand new KOMODO from Gmade! #ProjectG6 is driving on their rims (SR02 and SR03 – depends on which tires I choose), so when there came a chance to build Gmade’s new offroad rig, there was no question if we’re gonna do it πŸ™‚ As usual, we’re gonna show you steps of the build and write a few words about each step. This time it’s all about the axles.

This is what we found in the first bag, with axle parts. If there is something we don’t like about the way Gmade pack parts is fact, that when you end building f.e. axles, you are left with many parts, that you’re gonna need in next steps. It’s not a big problem of course, but at one point we run out of space on the work bench πŸ˜‰

But if it comes to the instructions – they are brilliant. There is no way to get to the point, when you don’t know what to do. Everything is shown well, sometimes from different angles. There are RC companies, that could learn from Gmade, for sure. Well done!

Using one-piece axles is an interesting idea (used before in f.e. Axial Wraith). They seems to be very solid. And metal cover looks good and I think is a good choice. What I also like is the fact… that they are VERY easy to put together.

One thing I’m not so sure about is the gear grease – I’m used to thick, gooey vaseline-like grease. This one is something between coconut oil and coconut cream in Rafaello πŸ˜‰ I’m very curious how it will work.

Look how thick the axle shafts are!

And this is how complete axles look like. I only wish they are gonna be as solid as they seems to be πŸ™‚ Fingers crossed! πŸ™‚

As I told you earlier – we were left with “some” parts from the first bag, after assembling the axles πŸ˜‰
